Community Centre Build

A Safe place to Grow and Thrive.

Community Centre Build

Imagine a group of women, nearly 300, brought together over the last 4 years to form 19 Cooperative groups. Imagine 300 households that these women come from, houses with no electricity, water, sanitation, some with no beds or hardly any furniture. When it rains the water and mud runs through the houses. Food is sparse and children are sick and hungry. Clean water is a luxury, so life is hard on a normal day. Can you imagine this? Probably not so easily.
By building a safe space for the Kibagare Community, we are creating a space for projects started, to grow, a space for the women to work, to come together to support each other, to safely store there goods. It gives the community an identity and a sense of belonging.
St Martins School has offered land within the school grounds to build a community centre. 300 women can become 600 women and 300 households can become 600 households. That means households that are moving from being vulnerable to sustainable, families who can generate income and provide basic foods, water and send their children to school. Making the community a safer place and giving the people a chance to THRIVE!! Please take a look at this website to understand Kibagare, the Community and the work that is being done.
